Kathy Griffin: Seaman 1st Class

Very funny!!!
Loved it and of course she is very funny. It runs 35 minutes 50 seconds, but there are some jokes that are cut out: Anna Nicole reference and her encore jokes, which you don't get to hear. That was disappointing. Other than those things, Griffin's material is great!

Griffin Raises Celebrity Skewering to a Hilarious Art Form
Kathy Griffin's reality series, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List, is a genuinely entertaining look into her life as a second-tier celebrity, but her hilariously scabrous stand-up routines are really where she shines as a performer. Available on Amazon Unbox Video Downloads are five of her Bravo TV specials. Running around forty minutes each without commercials, they show Griffin at her unapologetic best mocking overexposed celebrities. Fully aware of the safety zone for her material, she is a masterful storyteller when it comes to embellishing her encounters with celebrities ripe for ridicule, but her humor is rarely offensive to the point of cruelty. In fact, it is her approval-seeking desire to make the A-List that allows her to get away with much of her potentially libelous material.

Her barbs cover well-trodden territory but from a perspective that relates easily to her audience of fellow...

Hilarious
This is an excellent value for Miss Griffin fans! Multiple episodes available that cover a wide range of time, so you get to see her evolution as a stand-up comedian slash commentator.

Swing Dance Lessons on DVD Vol 1 & 2 (Two Disc Set Instructional Swing Dance DVDs)

Fun!
By far a very simple way to learn some, at first glance, pretty complex moves that have totally made it easier for me to lead as a guy on swing night. My first time going, I just kept on going back to the same moves over and over again, which was fun, but got boring after a while. This DVD helped me to broaden my horizon on moves that I can do with my partner and spend a lot less time standing and wondering, "Which move should I do next?" and "How do we do that one move?" Easy to follow and motivating!

Great Intro to Swing Dancing
If you've ever wanted to learn how to country swing dance, this DVD set is the perfect place for beginners. Jared starts off slow, introducing the basic steps, and slowly picks up the pace. By the end you will be able to do more complex moves, combinations, and several dips. While you won't learn any advanced lifts with these DVDs, this is definitely a great place to start. I've been country swing dancing for 6+ years and have owned several "Learn to Country Swing Dance" DVDs over the years (including a previous version made by Jared) - this one is by far the most in depth, and best put-together (production-wise) dance DVD I've used.

Ticket to swing stardom!
If you wanna learn the easy way, I think these DVDs are perfect. Jared teaches a wide range of dance steps and moves, so you won't get bored if you're experienced and you won't be out of your league if you're a beginner! The instructions are clear and easy, the background setting fun, and the format is perfect for an instructional DVD. Highly recommended!

Season Two is Better Than Season One
Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura from Season 2 is an awesome show that brings up good points of what our government does from the shadows. I cannot wait for season four.

New stuff here
Liked this one. Jesse had on E. Howard Hunt's son, Hunt was one of the spooks who burglarized Watergate for Nixon. Jesse finds out that the burglars were looking for secret docs on the Kennedy assassination.

The best part was E. Howard Hunt's recorded death bed confession where he stated he was part of the "Event," which he claimed was the government take down of JFK.

Great episode. In fact, it is probably the best episode in the series. See it.

intereting but...
Pretty interesting but could be nothing more than smart business practice. I would imagine insurance is cheaper for underground warehouses.

Line Dance Lessons on DVD Vol 1 & 2 (Two Disc Set, Line Dance Instructional DVDs)

Great Video
This line dance DVD is great. If you want to learn a good variety of dances I think this is a good way to go. I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth. The line dance instruction was good. For me personally I probably would have had them go a little slower, but it was a great pace for my wife. I do understand that they accommodated for this with the whole thing of making each section of steps a chapter in the dvd so i could skip back and do those steps over again, and I actually used it, but my wife was usually ready to move on before I was, so I just thought I would mention it... The thing I liked the most is that you get to practice the dances. Doing all of them back to back at the end of the DVD is really fun.

Super fun!
I am a new country dancing addict and and the first time or two that I went, I was always envious of the fun line dances that the other guys and gals were doing. They looked fun and I wanted to participate! I jumped in and tryed to learn the steps as I went, which is basically impossible. So, I got these DVDs, both the line dancing and the swing dancing, and now it is a lot easier to keep up with the other people doing the line dances. The video is really clear and easy to follow and made me want to put on a pair of boots and go again!

Can't Recommend Anything Better
Only line danced once before. Went through this video with my family and absolutely loved it. Great fun, easy to follow, plus it's a good work-out. If you're looking to learn some great line dances, I can't recommend anything better.

Avengers Assemble! [HD]

The second season got off to a slow start...
...but it's starting to improve. (Although the new opening for each episode sounds like it's aimed at 8-year olds, and I see that the PC forces have converted Thor from the "God of Thunder", to the "Prince of Thunder".) In any event, the stories are starting to become more mature and more complex again. I hope this indicates a trend toward matching the quality of season one.

Reminiscent of 1990s Batman
Espisode 2x19 "Code Red" is reminiscent of 1990s Batman, with a plot based on political intrigue and duplicitous villains. It has the rare effect of making me wish the episode lasted longer. Generally "Mightiest Heroes" has consisted of very short stories, even in its two-parters and long arcs, but "Code Red" seems to cry out for 10 more minutes of exposition.

But that's a good thing, a glowing result, in fact. This cartoon offers up good action and plot, and leaves me wanting just a little more. Kind of the perfect recipe.

Season 2 just got better.
Season 2 is still more of an all-ages show, watered down from Season 1, but things just got better with episode 17. Now we're back to just a hint of maturity and layered characters. I think this episode has the first use of the word "die" so far in this season.

Still, it's not quite as violent and sharply toned as Season 1. Remember, Season 1 had the theme song starting with the lyric "The world's about to break." The episodes made good on that promise with things like Banner defending the Hulk's heroism and Ant Man hating Stark's guts. Season 1 was about as mature as "Batman Beyond," where season 2 is closer to Justice League or The Batman.

Operation Rich in Spirit

Another Great Episode of Robot Chicken
I bought this while traveling and streamed it to the computer. This is another great episode of robot chicken with one of the best Clown Car Crash scenes I have ever watched. Well worth the purchase and has led others into the Robot Chicken show via watching this one episode. I would recommend this to others as well as Amazons video viewing services. I am very pleased with these capabilities.

just plain funny
They poke fun at the people that need it most ...you know the kind the ones that think the rules just don't apply to them

It's Robot Chicken
How does one review Robot Chicken? It's pretty much the perfect show for a guy staring forty in the face and still refusing to give up his cartoons or action figure collecting. It's bawdy, it's quick, and it makes inside jokes for those of us who bask in the joy of refusing to get old and boring.

Also, if you have ever liked an actor who is working now, Seth Green has probably gotten them to come make fun of themselves and/or the characters they have played. For me, the insanely long list of A-listers who have a sense of humor about themselves reads like a list of actors that have earned my money in their future endeavors.

The Estate of Andy Warhol

Very Interesting
I thought the episodes were very interesting and my interest continued throughout the video. No dull moments. I got the truth on exactly what happened after Rock Hudson died. There are things you think happened that didn't, while other things happened and are a surprise. Definitely worth watching. I'm going to watch more of The Will - Family Secrets Revealed Episodes.

Interesting
This show is very interesting in that it focuses on how the wishes of those who have passed away are rarely followed to the letter despite even the most careful preparation. It also shows how families are torn apart when greed and unfairness motivates people to behave in unscrupulous ways.

Art Hadley Estate - Dramatic!
Art Hadley Estate debacle shown on "The Will" is a story of suspense and drama from start to finish. How an attorney managed to win Hadley's blood line some of his estate that was all about to fall into the hands of two strangers, is brilliant.

BEDLAM SEASON 2
I was disappointed it was on the internet & had to wait till it came out to buy to see it. I think the show is in all good taste & I love the paranormal shows with substance.

Well not up to usual British standard
Not sure about the new approach to shows by the Brits. Tried and true is always best where they are concerned. For those thinking it may be something like Being Human, it misses the mark by a mile. The first series is awful and would never have bothered to keep watching had I not already purchased both series. Happily, the second series is better, with tighter and more cohesive stories. They got rid of the leads from the first and it generally works better all round, but is overall a huge disappointment.

Better than Season 1
Season one was a little bit of a soap opera, trying to keep track of who was sleeping with whom. This season is much better, more like a proper ghost story. This was definitely an enjoyable use of a few hours.

Pelleas Et Melisande [Blu-ray]

Debussy for Dummies
The 2004 Zurich production of Pelléas et Mélisande is a curious one, but then Debussy's only complete opera is a strange and enigmatic work. It's a work that is founded on ambience and ambiguity, as much in the libretto - Maurice Maeterlinck's symbolist drama brought over almost intact - as in the haunting qualities of Debussy's music, which do not underscore or emphasise specific emotions in the traditional manner as much as suggest otherworldly mood and mystery in the hidden depths that lie within it. The production design consequently also goes for a non-specific, otherworldly location within a snow-bound world that seems to work well with Debussy's floating lines, the coldness and detachment of the expressions, as well as the enclosed intimacy and oppressiveness of the subconscious passions that underlie them.

By far the strangest element of Sven-Eric Bechtolf's production however is the use of life-size dummies, looking uncannily like the characters...

Big Time Bloopers

It will not play
I started to play it and it never starts so it kinda sucks. Could anyone help me? If you do thanks.

I'm 41 and so sucked into this show.
With all the lazy reality show hoopla I relish a show this clever, well-written, and well acted. I know because it's aimed at kids there is some hamminess involved but look at the singing and dancing and how much PHYSICAL humor is involved. Everyone is a pro. REALLY excited Nick signed them on for a fourth season (though having been to a few concerts they are obviously a cash cow.)

Re: this episode, it's one of a handful when I like the sidestory(s) better. Not going to spoil anything but I gasped when it happened then gasped even louder when it happened again. Perfect.

I love all the music industry pushing the 4th wall stuff and actually think I have a way to work the creepy fanfiction angle without crossing a line if anyone at Nick is interested LOL.

Good, clean entertainment for the entire family
I love these guys. Sure, their show is goofy and full of silly antics, but come on -- these guys never promised to be something more than that. What they set out to deliver was good, clean entertainment that the entire family can watch together -- and I believe they hit their mark. The Double Date episode appeals to all ages -- the childishness of Carlos, James good-hearted attempt to "save" his friend, the weird on-again / off-again relationship between Logan and Camille, and the anticipation of a possible relationship between Kendall and Lucy.

We had a TV pass for Season 2 and now have a TV pass for Season 3; my kids love it, my husband loves it, I love it. We all get to spend some time watching a show together, laugh together about their crazy antics, and later on we share funny quotes or snippets from the show. From this episode, my kids still get a chuckle out of Gustavo being hit by a fish...James falling onto the creme brulee and leaving his mustache...and my...

Love Thy Neighbor [HD]

Tasteless
I usually love true crime TV, but the overdramatization and jokey comments by the narrator come off as making light of the crime and totally disrespectful of the victims. I won't be watching any more of this show.

Not very original
I am a Susan Lucci fan, as she narrates the video. Other than than that, the program wasn't anything unique or special. I only watched one episode, and I wouldn't watch anymore. Not worth the money.

Too much HYPE
Normally, I love Indentification Discovery but this series was a little on the tedious side. Susan Lucci is ageless and still sexy as ever. This series has its merit but I like "Wicked Attraction" better.

The Universe in 3D [Blu-Ray]

This is NOT the FULL original set but it's still cool...
First if you are a fan of all of the SEASONS this is not THE ORIGINAL FIRST SET. Nor is it what is represented in the review just previous to this.

This set is 3 discs and it includes the following titles: "Catastrophes That Changed The Planets", "Nemesis: The Sun's Evil Twin" and "How The Solar System Was Made". It isn't a disc by disc rundown of each planet as the review suggests. However, I would agree that Amazon should do just a touch of research and give the exact names of the titles in their descriptions.

When you show a list price of $80 this would suggest it's a full season and a vague two or three sentence explanation doesn't tell me the names of the actual episodes. (Full disclosure: To Amazon's credit they do not claim it IS a full season.) The expectation for me was for more than three episodes when the seasons include seven or more. Now as far as the product itself goes, these are good episodes and play nicely on our TV. We have a passive...

Lame History Channel content not worth the price
Bought this based on the stellar reviews. The 3D is lame. Most of it is scientists standing in front of a post that you can tell is behind them. The animation is weak and several of the clips are replayed repeatedly throughout the show. Good content for children maybe but for the asking price - these should be spectacular.

So here is what this 3-Disc set includes:
Ok so amazon has a habit lately of making listings and giving about 2% effort in the amount of information included.
Are we supposed to guess what this is?

Well here, its a 3-Disc set

Disc 1 Sun & Moon 3D
Disc 2 Jupiter & Saturn 3D
Disc 3 Mars, Mercury & Venus 3D

All three are around 45 minutes a piece. they are BD-25 discs stamped with the data not burned like the Avatar 3D that came with Panasonic 3DTV's lol

It was released on amazon.de not too long ago and is coming to our region very soon. You know you can get these individually on amazon.de they have foreign language on the cover but English DTS 5.1 Audio and are REGION FREE. They are called Secrets of the Universe 3D. So if you can't wait until November that's a solution. I watched ALL THREE and just loved them. I enjoyed Universe: 7 Wonders of the Solar System 3D but to be honest, they kinda repeated information over and over. and hyped the show during the show...

Frankenstein

The forgotten Frankenstein finally gets its due
Although this 1993 t.v.-movie was largely eclipsed by the big-screen Kenneth Brannaugh film the following year, it's actually the superior film in many ways. First of all, the production values are extremely high. It's easy to forget one is watching "just a t.v. movie." The mostly-British cast is also top-notch, and the late and talented director David Wickes really caputures them at their best. And while not completely faithful to the source novel (no screen version has really done the book justice), it does capture the story's sense of dread rather well, and quite a few scenes ARE in fact straight from the book. In addition, there's a rousing musical score that's probably the best I've ever heard in a non-theatrical production. There's even some well-handled gore that was pretty shocking 20 years ago. . .and still holds up pretty well.

If you're a fan of Frankenstein, or just literate, intelligent horror in general, I highly recommend you give this one a try.

Mediocre
"Nobody's ever done a Frankenstein like this one and nobody's ever done a better one" (Houston Chronicle).

That says a lot about the Houston Chronicle. I'm not familiar with that newspaper but I guess it's kind of a joke. How much were they paid to say that?

I've seen them all and I'm having trouble thinking of a worse one. But I'm not including "joke" ones like Bikini Frankenstein! But of all the serious attempts at Frankenstein, this is lowly. Bad acting, bad script, and the music: Omen-like music is hilarious!

Also, it says it is based on the original story by Mary Shelley. BARELY. Yes, there is a scientist named Victor Frankenstein who created a being. I guess that's what they mean by "based on".

Unless you are a Frankenstein "completest" I wouldn't bother watching, let alone owning, this one.

Ristorante Paradiso Complete Series

Excellent alternative to romantic comedy movies on couples night.
After having read the manga, I bought this series as a Christmas gift for my husband who loves to cook. At first I was nervous. He's very picky about what he likes to watch and will give up on a story if it doesn't have enough like-able characters. But it turned out to be better than I had expected! The manga was charming and ambivalent, and I was hoping the anime would be the same, a series of vignettes about Italian restaurant life. The anime actually brought a lot of heart to the characters, expanding upon them greatly. The ending was particularly satisfying.

If you don't like drama, love food, enjoy beautiful artwork (if minimally animated), and enjoy heart-warming tales about love, family, and what it means to be "an adult," you'll like this. Put the cheesy romcom back on the shelf, grab a bottle of red, and put this baby into the DVD player. You're up for an awesome night.

A bet of Adult Women's art for the whole public in America
Ristorante Paradiso (RP) is a unique anime series because it comes from Josei manga, manga for adult women. This manga is the least known and its anime product even less so. This manga is normally very very dark, gloomy, focusing mostly in dysfunctional relationships and generally lacks humor. [Go to Wikipedia and see it for yourself by checking its josei list.] Adult women in Japan and elsewhere seem to focus unusually in reality. I seek reality-based anime and movies, thus I had to admire a josei anime one day and RP is the one. ("Honey & Clover" and "Paradise Kiss" were just OK). Note, the Amazon's Editorial Review shown above describes well the general story. I focused in the anime itself.

As a women-aimed product, the normally sex-averse American audience won't have to worry about the 3 b's: boobs, butts & bold curves. In our nation -and so many more- you can buy in regular stores gross violence and garbage like "Saw" as long as its sex content is minimum. Well, in...

Linebarrels of Iron: Complete Series S.A.V.E.

A Great Mecha Series
Kouichi has been picked on his whole life. He's always being rescued by his best friend and the girl he likes. He's in Middle School now, and he's sick of all the crap. One day he's killed by a Mech that falls from the sky. The alien girl piloting it resurrects him and he becomes the new pilot of the Mecha called Linebarrel. Now that he has power, he's turned into a douchebag. He joins the Juda Corporation to fight the evil Kato organization. Kato is led by a man from another dimension, he wants to pave the way for a huge invasion. After many failures and revelations, Kouichi realizes his purpose and becomes a true hero.

This anime really surprised me. There are tons of giant robot animes out there, and most of them are pretty average. This one rises above the average series in the Mech genre. The animation, soundtrack, and voice acting are all great. There are lots of really cool and memorable characters. This anime also has tons of action, drama, comedy, romance, and...

Anime Genius
This is one of those Animes that turns out to be a gem hiding in a lower priced package. The artwork is great and the story is original. The S.A.V.E. series of animes is a genius idea. Normally high priced animes in a cheaper package for a lot less money. Nothing deleted, great quality. The same as the higher priced box set just in a condensed box and a lower price. Best idea I've seen. Me being a anime fan.

This one follows a character killed off accidentally by a mecha only to be brought back to life by that same mecha and mentally linked to him. This allows him to summon it by calling out ;Linebarrel; and it appears moving him inside it to pilot the vehicle.

Of course, you have the super villains from another dimension who are trying to take over the earth with their mechas. In fact ;Linebarrel; was designed for them but hi-jacked by the scientist who built it and sent with his daughter to earth.

Besides the original anime ideas, there are enough...

For $10 this is a really good live show. I liked the full setlist and the bonus interview with Mark Arm. The band played well, using instruments to play. Vampires: Brighter in Darkness

Grab a stake...fast!
One wants to be kind, but "Vampires: Brighter in Darkness" is the kind of movie that looks like it was made by a lonely, industrious but untalented twelve-year-old boy with (a) an interest in the occult and older boys (not necessarily in that order); (b) a computer that you absolutely know is, sadly, his best friend; and (c) a nifty, down-and-dirty FX video editing program he recently got from a coupon he found on the back of a bag of his favorite crisps, which you also absolutely know he eats far too many of. For the record, this kid is obsessed with his editing program, and not in any way that makes a positive contribution to his filmmaking. In fact, if you removed every "special" effect from "Vampires: Brighter in Darkness," it would be vastly improved and about 10 minutes long. Poor image quality, ridiculous plot, generally lame dialogue aside, this is a very bad movie indeed, one that makes you feel every second of its two-hour length. On the bright side, the fangs look good,...

Legacy: Rostropovich & Britten

Thrilling!
Rostropovich's performance of the Rococo Variations is exhilarating. Also it's interesting to see Britten conduct repertoire (Romeo and Juliette) that one would not normally associate with him. However, the greatest value of this DVD are the sections from Britten's opera Gloriana. Despite its beautiful score, it was one of Britten's less successful operas and therefore is the only one of his operas that he did not record. (Of course Death in Venice being an exception, since his final illness prevented his conducting its recording but he did oversee the recording conducted by Stuart Bedford.) Therefore these excerpts may be the only existing record of Britten interpreting this neglected but great work. The performances are strong and the sound and video quality are good. Recommended!

Beware of Puppets
I purchased the first six episodes for my kiddo hoping and praying there would be no puppets as there are in half of the season 1 episodes. No such luck. My kid loves Caillou but every time there is a puppet "intermission" between shorts the kindle gets slapped silly until the cartoon is back on. It would be nice if Amazon would mark which episodes have these ridiculous puppet shows.

Puppet Interruptus
I saw the other reviews regarding the puppet sequences, but thought I would see how my daughter liked them. She didn't. For a toddler who loves Caillou, the puppets can be an unwelcome interruption to the fun. Caillou is a great, calm show for younger kids with a loving family, but the puppets just didn't go over. We have to fast-forward through them.

Attention grabber
First off our daughter LOVES this show, mom and dad are mixed. If we need to get something done and need a way to keep her attention for 30 minuted Caillou FTW. However this kid knows how to whine with the best of them. I think she can relate to his every emotion...

Nice tips to get around. Main neighborhoods are described. It has a bit of history to understand better the country. And its very fun to watch

I Have Been to Buenos Aires Twice
I have visited BA twice on week long vacations and will sometime in the future go back again. I really enjoyed this Globetrekker’s view of Buenos Aries as the host really brought out the color and highlights of the city. I have plenty of Globetrekker DVD including the Argentina one, frankly many are average watching. The host visits most of the places you will be visiting in BA long with giving some background history. I would recommend this Globertrekker city guide for people who wonder why they should visit Buenos Aries or those who have been there and are me would like to watch it for the memories of their visit.

The only thing I would say was missing it a visit to restaurant for steak, having some empanadas and going horseback riding.

But that said it has been a month since the I have the DVD and have watched it four times already.

ATHF: brilliant....misunderstood?
I am the proud owner of all five seasons of ATHF on dvd and i've never been disappointed. This is not the place you'd want to start your collection, though. Start with volume 2 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Volume 2 or volume 3Aqua Teen Hunger Force - The First Three Volumes.

Volume 5 is for fans of the show only, though the Boost Mobile episode was an instant classic. The show took a bizzarre, edgy and weird-for-the-sake-of-weird turn. It's almost in the tradition of Modernist playwrights like Harold Pinter at times. The episode "Party All The Time" is more art than cartoon, and plays with your emotions more than you thought possible from a "stoner cartoon". This volume proves ATHF is smart, and loves to push the boundaries of TV and the concept of Cartoons in general.

Die hard fans will not be disappointed, but newbies should...

ATHF 5
This is a great volume of a ridiculous series. These episodes are by and far the most offensive episodes to date. If you like the other Aqua Teen volumes, you will love this one.

"PARTY PARTY PARTY I LIKE TO PARTY!"
Here we are, here it is, the controversial season, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Volume 5 (it's actually Season 4).

The episodes and my favorite lines from them:

DISC ONE:
1. Dirtfoot: "It's got blondie. Lemme tell you, where she AIN'T A BLONDE!"
Master Shake, in yet another ridiculous attempt to get laid, traps himself down a well, which Frylock and Meatwad find to have an apartment down below, where they also meet Shake's roomate Dirtfoot, a legendary monster who 'comes to terms with himself' in this episode.

2. Boost Mobile: "(Meatwad crying after Frylock tells him he doesn't have hair)"
Shake becomes a Boost Mobile ad-plugger.

3. D***esode: "Tonight you will get your d*** ripped off...that doesn't sound right does it?"
Probably one of the most controversial episodes of all time, and also one of the ones that makes this set get all the venom it does (Joyce). Carl peels the bottom of his fast food cup off, and gets...

The Dance [HD]

Copy of the UK program down to the sequence of the scripts!
NO SPOILERS:

A surprising number of US programs emanate from the UK (I.E. Shameless, The Office, Being Human and 3's Company). Sometimes the basic framework of the UK series is "borrowed" and reinvented in the US and other times the US Series is a complete carbon copy of the UK series. The US version of The Inbetweeners is most definitely the latter. In fact I can't remember seeing a US version of a UK series where not only was the plot identical, but the same scripts were utilized in an exact sequence. I have to believe that the R&D budget for the US Inbetweeners was essentially nil!

If you watched the UK series, there will be nothing new here and depending on your memory, you can even forecast the major comedic moments. My other main issue is one that seems to be common to programs offered on MTV. Namely, the use of a bleep button. I suppose that I understand that basic cable in the US does not offer the same latitude as regular programming in the UK,...

UK version is good though
This Americanized series is lame and the actors are not very funny, especially Simon and Will. The original UK version is funny as hell though.

Lost in translation
Same scripts but just highlights the difference between british and US humour. Watch the UK version as it is way funnier.

I Love Lucy: Seasons 7-9

Lucy Desi Comedy Hour
I own all 6 Lucy Seasons and Seasons 7-9, which are also known as the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour (I think they should have it titled as this to avoid confusion).
The artwork has changed since I bought my copy but the product has not...
There are some really great episodes any Lucy fan would not want to miss on these discs! From alaska to hunting for uranium to lucy and the mustache, all of the episodes are great, but my absolute favorite is where they go to Japan! Fried Grasshoppers anyone? Not for Lucy, she just wants pearls.
I HIGHLY recommend getting Seasons 7-9! These are Hour long episodes that some people don't even know exist or think they are 30 min episodes, like Seasons 1-6.

Spanish subtitles
The DVDs are great, the episodes are beautifully restored, the sound is perfect, the extras are awesome (especially the episodes of My favorite husband).. the only thing that bothered me was that all the dvds come with spanish subtitles except this one, i needed them for my mom who doesn't speak any english, but it's just a tiny detail, everything else is just perfect.

lucy is still with us.
I give it 4 stars because watching I Love Lucy brings back so many great laughs. I would rrecomend this to a friend. It makes a great gift for a "Lucy Nut " such as my 60 year old sister.

Fighting Sullivans

An American family sends its five boys off to World War II
"The Fighting Sullivans" is the true story of five brothers who died together when their Navy ship, the Juneau, was sunk in the South Pacific during World War II. But only the last act of this 1944 film, directed by Lloyd Bacon, shows the Sullivans at war. Most of this film is pure Americana, following the lives of the boys from their childhood in Waterloo, Iowa. Thomas Mitchell and the marvelous Selena Royle are the loving parents, while the five boys are played by unknown actors: Edward Ryan (Al), John Campbell (Frank), James Cardwell (George), John Alvin (Matt), and George Offerman (Joe). Trudy Marshall plays their only sister, Genevieve. Top billing actually goes to Anne Baxter as the young girl who marries into the family and will be left a widow with a baby in arms. Ward Bond plays the Navy lieutenant who befriends the family when the Sullivans insist that they will only join up if they can serve together. Eventually the Navy relents and the boys get their wish...

Will live in my heart and memory forever
My mother brought me to see this movie at the Crest movie theatre in Highbridge. It was soon after the Sullivan brothers had so heroically died for their beloved country. There were many other mothers or fathers who wanted their children to learn about why we were at war at that time, and to have respect for the Sullivans and all the other men and women in their service of their country during World War II.

I was only five years of age at that time, but I remember everything about the movie. Ofcourse, I saw it in the movies a couple of more times within the next few years as well as staying up until the wee small hours of the morning to see it on the late show. Each and every time, the movie evoked the same reaction from me, tears and trembling.

I felt as though every member of the Sullivan family was a friend of mine. Perhaps I may sound old fashioned or outdated, but I appreciated The Fighting Sullivans more than I could any of the films of the present day...

Always a classic, never too late to see.
In 1955 my mother made me sit and watch this movie at the ripe young age of 10. I will never forget the emotions that overcame me even at this youg age. For years I had looked, and looked for this movie, and alas a few years back it appeared on late nite tv. I watched, I recalled, and I cried my eyes out. Mind you I am a seasoned Viet Nam veteran...and this movie is so realistic as to what life was and should be, that it will affect anyone who views it in a favorable light. I now insist that my two adult children view this movie, and will purchase it for each of them as a reminder as to family values, and the sacrifice that past American's have made for our freedoms. This is a film that should be viewed by every American. This is a film which should be included as required viewing for any immigrant entering and enjoying the freedoms of the USA. This film is reality, family values, loyalty, tradition, and patriosim all intertwined into a classic movie which has and will...

It's funny moments are too far in between
The show is ok but I found that the laughs are too far in between it's jokes. Although some of the videos are funny as can be. Ten minutes of funny is just not enough for thirty minutes plus of jokes. It's a decent show but it could definitely be better.

MUST WATCH!!!!
I love to laugh so this is a staple show for me!! Rob and Steelo are hilarious and I hope it never ends lol!!!

Hillarious
Nice way to spend a few minutes and just laugh out of ridiculousness. Rob make some funny comments.

Reminds me of AMFVs.

Thumbs-Free Massage

Watch this video and save your thumbs
Overuse of thumbs is a major problem for many massage therapists. I once had to stop practicing for a few months while both of my thumbs healed. This video shows you how to avoid this injury and still be as effective with your treatments. Kay is a very good instructor. She is clear in her explanations and demonstrates each and every technique so that you can add it to your routine easily. I agree with the other review that it is better to watch the video in sections. I watched it clear through the first time and it was a bit overwhelming. No surprise that learning an entire body massage in one setting could be too much. Like all good training, learn a little and add it into your practice. Once you're comfortable with it, watch some more and add it to your routine. After a while, you'll have added several new techniques that most of your clients will have never experienced. And your thumbs will be in great shape.

Excellent Info!
I recieved this information from Kay Rynerson on November 28th. I watched this with my Massage Therapy Students in class:
Students really liked the DVD. I liked how its broke into sections, for example Back, Legs, arms etc. There are many strokes and techniques on this DVD that I have never seen before. I have been a practicing Massage Therapist for at least 8 years now and I will definitley integrate some of these strokes into my practice.
My suggestion: for students or anyone watching this DVD watch section at a time. It begins to get too overwhelming watching all 90 minutes. So today watch Back info, tomorrow next body section. This worked out great in the classroom.
All of my fellow instructors enjoyed watching it as well.
So for all of that, Thank you Kay for making such a great DVD. We are very delighted in having this DVD in our resource center here on Campus. Thank you again.

Bugs Bunny Superstar

Keep those Golden Collection boxes coming!
At this yearly pase I will have to wait till about the year 2020 to have a complete Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies-collection! ;) So keep them coming! I love the favorites, but I also like and am interested in the lesser known ones!

Here's data on Golden Collection #4:

* Includes 60 episodes on a Four-Disc Set.

* Disc One: Showcase the long-eared star extraordin-hare with 15 Bugs Bunny Cartoons, including the 1958's Oscar-winning Best Cartoon Short Subject Knighty Knight Bugs.

* Disc Two: (Porky Pig) celebrates animation legend Frank Tashin, who brought a filmmaker's eye for angles, editing and style to his cartoon creations.

* Disc Three: Zips along pronto with fast-acting Speedy Gonzales and includes Tabasco Road Mexicall Shmoes and Pied Piper of Guadalupe, all of which were nominated for Academy Awards.

* Disc Four: And cats may have nine lives but they also have 15 cartoons on the fourth disc's batch of feline...

Looks like another essential purchase to me!
I know, we all have our favorite cartoons. And it's easy to nit-pick on the selection of 'toons in each volume. But, with the release of Vol. 4, there are still OVER 700 LOONEY TUNES that Warner Bros. can choose from. I think it's imperative that we fans continue supporting each release, in order to continue the Golden Collection series.

Having said that, I would prefer that they stop giving each disc a single theme. I love these classic cartoons, but even I will have trouble sitting through 15 Speedy Gonzales cartoons in a row. Wouldn't it be more fun for viewers to mix it up a little? Or better yet, take a cue from the Columbia House Video Library, and give each famous cartoon director his own disc.

OK, so I'm guilty of nit-picking, too. Vol. 4 is another treasure trove for classic animation fans, with incredible bonus materials. So come one, Looney Tunes fans! Grab The Golden Collection Vol. 4 so we can assure that "That's NOT all, folks!"

plenty of toons, not enough looney
bugs has always been my favorite so the two star rating is not a knock on him or most of the other looney toons characters. the two star rating is based soley on the content of volume four. disc one is all bugs, half of them very good the other half less then memorable. the yosemitie sam "whoa" theme was cute. (whoa mule, whoa camel, whoa dragon) disc two "dash of tashin" are straight up generic cartoons. nice, cutezy, squirrels singing, birds chirping, you will watch it once and that will be that. disc three is speedy gonzalez a character i never cared for and a disc that may not even be watched once. disc four is dedicated to cats. i have three cats so its not as though i dont appreciate them, (the animals not the toons) its just that basically you have another disc of mostly less then memorable generic cartoons. i hate to be the one that dissents from all the other glowing five star reviews but its not like these sets come out all that frequently and they dont come cheap and if i...

Teen Mom: Season 4, The Final Season

Not what you think
Not the expected season. It says season 4 when in fact it is not! i was very upset and felt miss leaded

Teen Mom Televesion Show Review
I couldn't wait for season 3 of MTV's Teen Mom television show to air this past July. I was beyond excited and had the date securely saved for the premier. Now that the season is over, I can say how disappointed I am with this television show in general. The teen moms no longer show the hardships of being a young mother. I lost complete interest and will never be watching it again.

Teen Mom is a television show following four girls. Maci, Farrah, Amber, and Catelynn are teen girls who showed us what life is like dealing with an unplanned teen pregnancy. Maci, is a girl who struggles with custody issues, school and keeping a healthy relationship with her baby's father. Farrah does not have the best relationship with her mother and has to attend counseling to cope with her baby's father's death. Amber constantly argues with her boyfriend and has even gotten physical with him. Catelynn is the only girl who chose adoption for her baby. Her family was not supportive of her...

um
has anyone else noticed that not all these episodes are from the same season. most are the first season of teen mom two, then a few episodes are from the original teen mom series, but the descriptions are still from teen mom two. so I'm not sure which season this really is?

Obama Wins! [HD]

OMG, they killed-- oh, wait, never mind
I have watched South Park since its inception. The first two seasons were a hoot-- really, some very funny, original, and creative stuff, which was made all the better by the fact that the drawing was deliberately and self-consciously not at all slick. In later seasons-- and importantly, recent seasons, South Park has become uneven in the quality of the episodes, in terms of humor and creativity. At times, the humor and creativity and originality has been compromised for the sake of preachiness. At other times, the episodes are classics. But even at its worst, an episode of South Park will still contain a gem or two that can't be found anywhere else-- for example, in the most recent episode, where Butters sinks a cruise ship with a golf ball. That's why I continue to watch faithfully.

Been watching this show since around time it first came out
I Bought every season when i was little and sold every season for the next season im building my seasons back up and got about half them back slowly working on completing them with old box look and all. This season i watched tv and was a great season zipline cracked me up cartmen token episode cracked me up And love hearing commentary from matt and trey cant wait hear what got say. All i have to say is southpark is original and hope it keeps airing even after matt and trey die let someone else they know keep show good and keep it going FOREVER! its just that good

Oh Long Johnson
"South Park" has been one of the few animated television series that seems to have only gotten better with age. Every season, the show seems to improve a bit more. The animation of the show, despite being glorified versions of their construction paper cut outs from 15 years ago, has evolved drastically over the years and now features the likes of cel shading, computer animation, and even live-action segments. The writing of the show only gets more imaginative with each season as the show continues to put a viciously comical spin on current events, celebrities, and movies. It's taken 16 seasons to finally check out the show on Blu-ray. Even if you're a massive fan of the show, the mindset is that maybe the show doesn't really require fans to watch the show in high definition. But the show looks and sounds damn good in the format.

"The Complete Sixteen Season" features all 14 episodes from season 16 in a sleek two-disc Blu-ray package (or three-discs for the DVD). While the...

Barometz. Trick. Pressure

A must have!
In season 2 we find Bo having to handle her abilities - particularly her healing - on her own, now that her lover Dyson can no longer feel love for her - or anyone else. This plot device allowed Bo to become her own person and grow as a woman and as a Fae whose destiny is still unknown. Meanwhile, as the cover art implies, it also allowed Bo to explore the other vortex of the love triangle; she fell deeply in love with human lover Lauren.

Ksenia Solo continues to be magnificent as Kenzi and even though Dyson's broodiness caused some intense eye-rolling, Kris Holden-Ried shined as Kenzi in the classic body switching episode. The Trick revelation late in the season is bound to forever strengthen his bond with Bo and Anna Silk and Zoie Palmer's chemistry continues to be unmatched. The Lost Girl cast is, without a doubt, the highlight of this show.

The season suffered a lot from a late back 9 order but was still enjoyable overall. With Bo struggling with the...

Bo continues to get her freak on, Kenzi finally shows some skin and then there is The Garuda!
VERY MINOR SPOILERS:

For some reason when I recite the title for my review I think of the theme song from the 70's sitcom "Maude"!

FYI, "The Garuda" is a flame spewing winged demon

With Dyson having made his proverbial deal with the devil and Lauren reunited with her old flame, Bo finds comfort in the arms of a Dark Fae and sometimes said Dark Fae +1!

What made season 1 great is repeated in season 2 with some added complexity, as Bo learns more about herself.
Not to say that there has been any noticeable reduction of minutes highlighting Ms. Silk's impressive cleavage. Also, Kenzi sans the leather, in a form fitting evening gown has the effect of equaling Bo in the redirection of blood flow equation!

I watched the entire series in 3-sittings and am happy to know that there will be a season 3. My highest recco for SyFy/Fantasy type programming.

A supernatural universe for ADULTS with an awesome heroine - continues
This Canadian television show about a supernatural world (the Fae) that exists in secrecy among humans is so different from the typical fantasy TV show that it grabbed my attention immediately. It incorporates mythologies and cultural folklores; however, they are the "Lost Girl" version of myths and legends. It has characters, action, and escapades that are enthralling and entertaining. The creator and producers have described the series as a supernatural crime drama with light comedy and it definitely lives up to their description.

The protagonist of Lost Girl is Bo (Anna Silk), a bisexual succubus that was adopted and raised by human parents. A succubus is a creature that must feed on the "chi" (the life force) of humans and Fae to survive; and when injured absorbs the chi and energy created during sexual encounters to heal. Being the modern version of the mythical succubus, Bo feeding or healing from either a male or female is irrelevant because it's all sexual healing...

Legacy: La Fille Mal Gardee

La fille mal garde with Nadia Nerina and David Blair
This disc surprised me. I thought that being in black and white would be disappointing--however it seemed to have its own ambience that did not take away from the performance. Very early in the disc, I began to smile and laugh out loud and this persisted throughout the entire performance, including the name credits at the end--which if you see it, you will understand why, again, I laughed out loud. David Blair was a very strong and likeable alpha male dancer.Nadia Nerina is thechnically exquisite and sooooo cute, albeit she is slightly older than some prima ballerinas. but her mannerisms are very charming and her proportions are just about perfect. The entire production was staged for TV and it is beautiful..The preformance that could rival this one for sheer joy and good humor is the splenidid Australian Ballet production with a vibrant David MacAllister as Colas and the exceengly lovely Fiona Tonkin as Lise. I would not be without either one. There are three other versions of...

Digimon Adventure: Volume 1

Love this show
I love this show and its so great to have on DVD. My only wish was that it had the Japanese language version as an option.

The good o'll days
Bought it for keepsakes and memories. definitely a youth's movie but I still love it! quality isn't as good as my memories recalled but what did I know about HD back then?

Digimon season 1
My son did an old puzzle at school and it was Digimon, he was very interested and wanted to watch it. I had a real hard time finding any episodes. There were none on Netflix but we finally found some on amazon but they were $2 an episode! Well he was hooked so I started researching a bit more and found this set, which saved me a ton of money! He has been nothing but thrilled with the set of season 1 and even uses the guide book that comes along with it! The one small downside was the case is a bit flimsy and came with a break and now only after a week the inside has broken. It still holds all the DVDs though!

Sesame Street: Old School 3 (1979-1984)

Good material, but not for completists
This third installment of the "Old School" DVD series covers seasons 11-15 (1979-84) of Sesame Street. Like previous installments, it features each season's premiere episode, along with a selection of "classic cuts" from each season, and some other bonus material. Unfortunately, this release is a step down from volumes 1 and 2 - not because the show itself declined in quality (it's still classic Sesame Street all the way), but because of a decrease in bonus material and a VERY glaring ommission that occurs in every episode included.

As it is, the previous volumes already had some minor issues. While the formula of including five (nearly) complete episodes and a selection of clips is not a bad one, I don't think that the season premieres were necessarily the best episodes to include, especially since many of them repeated the same segments (particularly ones about the number 2). This set actually features some episodes with a different number sponsor, but there's now...

Wonderful addition to the Old School Series. More Joe Raposo, more cultural pluralism, more hope!
Somewhere in the collective consciousness of those of us who grew up with Sesame Street is a sense of hope, of being able to live together with one another in ways that are creative, emancipatory, and rhythmical. This collection allows the political and social hope that was Sesame Street to shine through even more clearly than the previous volumes. Beginning with the show in which Maria goes back to Puerto Rico, the cast and the shows allow us to remember how often Sesame Street showed urban and rural images often side by side, providing a lived experience of togetherness within a nation that was often on edge over its diversity.

The music of Joe Raposo, and the montage of images shown with his songs, also contributed to a mood and a depth that has been unmatched in the last 30 or so seasons since. Look at the song about 2 (pairs of people) or about family. Look at the connections Raposo makes between animals and humans. Truly, something deep and lasting in melody, in...

THEME SONG EDITED OUT ON ALL 5 EPISODES!
Right after i received Sesame Street school Vol. 3 in the mail, I quickly searched thru all 5 episodes, and right away noticed that the theme song with those well known lyrics, "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street"?, is EDITED OUT of all 5 Episodes. UNBELIEVEABLE! Volume's 1 and 2 didn't have that problem, so why now Volume 3. That is my guess as to why it took so long to release Volume 3. Maybe it was possibly found out that buying the rights to the theme song was gonna cost too much money.

Don't let that keep you from buying SSOS Vol.3, cuz if you grew up with it, there is always great vintage material to look back on. More than one time, i ran across the PINBALL NUMBER COUNT about the number 2. That's ok with me, cuz I like the song. The song with the TWO GIRLS AND A LITTLE DOLL HOUSE is in this set. I know that one was in an earlier set. Segments repeated over the years, so we wouldn't forget. I saw at least a couple KERMIT THE FROG NEWS FLASH...

Eight is Enough Season Two, Part 1 & Part 2 Complete Pack

The numbers don't add up
This "Part 1 and Part 2 Complete Pack" is stated to run for 960 minutes. But the 2 parts separately run for 691 minutes and 600 minutes respectively. So since 960 is not equal to 1291, what happened to the other 331 minutes? Why are these stupid ganmes being played on the loyal fans by the DVD release people? Not pleased or impressed.

Sticker Shock
Love the series, but don't know why it cost so much compared to so many other tv programs on DVD? Secondly, why part 1 and 2? Who would want to watch the first half of a season?

Maybe Eight isn't Enough???
We like the programs; it's interesting to see the cultural changes since this show was on TV. Our major complaint is with the quality of the DVD's themselves. One of the DVD's was defective and garbled. Amazon replaced the set. The replacement set's DVD holders were broken when we received the new set. Also, there is no literature or program guide provided in the cases. The packages say that they were made by Warner Bros., but the quality of a couple of the DVD's recordings was certainly lacking.

Very happy to have an inexpensive copy of these shows
I purchased it basically because this is the only official video available of a bearded John Denver and I'm a huge JD fan. There was a video collection in the 90s but it was poorly produced (no credits) and pulled from the market quickly except for a brief re-appearance in Australia. Toscanini Unreleased

Interesting Home Movies
It's ironic that the cover photo for this DVD (Toscanini and his grand-daughter Emanuela at Riverdale in 1956) is not in fact unreleased but was published in "The Magic Baton" by Filippo Sacchi in 1957. That having being said, there is little here to offer the 'serious' Toscanini enthusiast. Since the British voice-overs sound rather cheesy, for English speaking viewers it's best to play the video in Italian with English subtitles.

However, the video has many merits. It is wonderful to see the late Walfredo Toscanini and Emanuela di Castelbarco talk so lovingly about their grandfather. About their formative years together with the Maestro in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and New York, and how devoted, caring and loving a father and grandfather he was. This is the first time I have heard Emanuela talk at length about her grandfather. As ever, the home movies (presumably taken by Walter Toscanini) are fascinating and revealing, and show just how relaxed and carefree...

The great conductor through the eyes (and lips) of his grandchildren
Thought there is no real sound footage of the great - and tempermental - conductor in this 67 minute Italian-produced documentary until the end, it is an interesting document, consisting of rare SILENT family footage of the man and many lengthy interviews with both his granddaughter and grandson. All the interviews - except for the manager of Carnegie Hall in NYC - are in Italian but they are translated aurally. Filmed in Italy, Switzerland and New York State, the film provides a background on the conductor's personality and family life. VERY little about his career. But the info will appeal to the Classical Music lover who wants to delve deeper into his personal life.
I hope you found this review both informative and helpful.

Ninja the Mission Force: The Complete First Season

Fantastic series.
There are few words that can describe the pure insanity that this series presents and it is glorious. This is a tribute what love and creative can make. If I had one complaint is that it was too short, but luckily season 2 is coming. What other story will have ninjas fighting dinosaurs AND be this funny ON PURPOSE!

This show is a ninja salad with dinosaurs, space ships, zombies, and extra cheese ninjas.

This series will leave you with but one question: "What's a Ninja?"

lol
41 Days till Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. 41 days till Halloween. Silver Shamrock! Good Night. Sleep is good. I am sleepy

What's a ninja? Nothing but a fairy tale!
Ninjas are automatically awesome -- just about anything in life can be improved by adding ninjas to it. The same is also true of Vikings, but that's not really applicable here.

So expect uber-ninjafication in "Ninja the Mission Force: The Complete First Season," a clever web series that overdubs footage from public-domain movies so that they're all about ninjas -- sci-fi, gladiators, cheese and exorcisms all get the ninja treatment. But the real plot involves an evil ninja master who wants ultimate ninja power. Ninja ninja ninja, ninja ninja.

The evil ninja Bruce (Brad Jones) is seeking the Avian Ninja Warriors, so he can have ultimate ninja power (and no, I don't really know what that means). But he soon runs afoul of Gordon (Ed Glaser), a former ninja who possesses one of the Avian Ninja Warriors -- and after a clash with a Cheese Ninja, he is pulled back into a war with the Evil Ninja Empire.

So now Gordon and his allies must battle the Evil Ninja...

Whale Wars: Season 4

five stars
buy this. It's cheap at the price.five stars need more words. okay. any old words will do? o o o:-)

best season yet
I've been following this show since the beginning and this is the best season yet. This follows the lives of the quirky, self-righteous, and somewhat daring activists as they try to stop the Japanese whaling in Antarctica. There are no major collisions or boardings this time but we get plenty of action, intrigue, and foibles that depict their trials or just dealing with the inhospitable environment that is Antarctica. Pacing and editing is pretty much right on, especially for those who have already seen the prior seasons. On one level the activists seem more capable and less hapless than in prior seasons, and we also see some character development as they question their own dedication or even their willingness to die for the cause.

Sea Shepards Rule!
Paul Watson and his crew of the Steve Irwin along with the Bob Barker and the little speedboat that keeps changing its name really put their lives on the line for the whales in Antarctica! Every year its like a David and Goliath fight as they hunt down the Japanese Whaling Fleet and take them on themselves to stop hunting whales in a whale sanctuary. If you are at all interested in whale conservation, this is the show for you!

The One with the Ball [HD]

Another season of our favorite FRIENDS!
The fifth season of FRIENDS is probably one of their most entertaining seasons made ever!!! This season contains a lot of funny moments and shows a clear development of relationships between the characters as well. Whether it be Phoebe giving birth to the triplets or Ross moving into the ugly naked guy's apartment, Rachel avoiding to put the eyedrops for her infection or Joey getting a job at Caesar's in Vegas, this season is fun-filled and very entertaining. We also get to see how the relationship between Chandler and Monica develop, from the first episode to the cliffhanger episode at the very end :). Here is a list of the episodes in this season:
01.The One After Ross Says Rachel
02.The One With All The Kissing
03.The One Hundredth
04.The One Where Phoebe Hates PBS
05.The One With The Kips
06.The One With The Yeti
07.The One Where Ross Moves In
08.The One With The Thanksgiving Flashbacks
09.The One With Ross's Sandwich
10.The One...

The funniest season!!!
This season great episodes. One of my favorites, TOW Everyone Finds Out. The Monica and Chandler secret relationship was a brillant idea and funny to watch. The finale is one of the best with drunk Ross and Rachel. Joey with his hand twin. Monica and Chandler thinking about marriage. And Phoebe gambling and trying to avoid a person who is trying to get her jackpot.

Move over Ross and Rachel, here comes Chandler and Monica
You have to admire the symmetry of "Friends: The Complete Fifth Season," which opens with Ross getting married and ends with Ross getting married. It reminds me of "Gone With the Wind," which begins with Scarlet pining for a man she cannot have and ends the same way. However, the key difference is that Monica and Chandler are a lot more fun than Ashley and Miss Melly ever were, that is for sure. For that reason Season Five is important in the "Friends" chronology, because it begins the second half of the series, which is operationally defined by the fact that as this point the Monica-Chandler relationship is suddenly transformed from a joke in the finale from the previous season into a driving force for both the season and the series. Even though we are now starting the final half of the final season, I think a lot of "Friends" fans are rooting more for Monica to adopt a baby (if not for Monica to actually be pregnant), then they are at this point for Ross and Rachel to finally...

Two complete one-act operettes-bouffes are presented in a rather odd framework: "Les deux aveugles" and "Croquefer, le dernier des paladins". The stagings are amusing, if a bit confusing. Both are presented in all black-and-white productions, sets, costumes, makeup, which are eye-catching, if a bit odd. It's the framework which is particularly strange: we are supposed to be watching these comedies as performed in Offenbach's own lifetime, and experiencing the varied reactions of his audience: scandalized and offended by high-class politicians and functionaries, and received with hilarity by the middle-class audience in the upper tiers of the theatre. I have a hard time understanding all the jokes and references, resulting in some confusion and perplexity.
As for the two pieces, " Aveugles" is charming enough, but "Croqufer" is a real delight. Toe-tapping tunes in frenetic rhythms and...

The One With Joey's Award [HD]

Friends - The Complete 7th Season!!!
The Seventh Series of Friends, I hate to admit, is not my favourite. I believe the storylines are a little to mundane and the actors try and do the best with what they're given. Their are 24 episodes in all. Below is a description of each to refresh your memories.

The One With Monica's Thunder - Chandler begins to worry about his performance in the bedroom. Monica catches Rachel and Ross kissing and thinks Rachel is trying to upstage her recent engagement

The One With Rachel's Book - Everyone begins planning for Chandler and Monica's wedding - except her parents, who blow her wedding money on a beach house.

The One With Phoebe's Cookies - Phoebe holds the key to the best-tasting cookies ever, which drives chef Monica crazy. Rachel gets high-handed while trying to teach Joey how to sail.

The One With Rachel's Assistant - Given the chance to employ her own assistant, Rachel overlooks more able female candidates in favour of a young, attractive man...

Best Season Hands Down
I never quite understood why people always complain about the seventh season of Friends. For once, there was no Ross-Rachel storyline (by that time their relationship was taking a lull until the following year) and the idea of just having individual episodes focusing on the daily adventures these characters faced was quite refreshing and extremely funny. Personally, I love this year of Friends. Its a bit more adult and a bit more mature - in terms of the characters growing up and entering a new, exciting phase of their lives.

My Favorite Season !
The seventh season of Friends is for sure my favorite season ever ! With great episodes like "The One With Monica's Thunder", "The One With Rachel's Book", "The One With The Nap Partners", "The One With All the Cheesecakes", and much more !... And the seventh season is also the first one introducing the Super Sizes episodes such as "The One With The Truth About London" and "The One With Joey's New Brain" with Susan Sarandon guest-starring !

Above all, the Season Finale is the best one Friends ever produced ! With great stoylines, suspens and guest stars (Gary Oldman, Morgan Fairchild and Kathleen Turner as Chandler's dad !), the cliffhanger is insufferable and the only thing we want to do at the end is to watch the Season 8 Premiere !
Also guest-starring this season : Eddie Cahill, Denise Richard, Winona Ryder ans more !

The seventh season is also a season with a lot of humour, emotion and friendship (well... It's Friends actually ! ;-).

From Rachel's crush on her new...

Hawkins: The Complete TV-Movie Collection

Very entertaining and a rare opportunity
I dock this product a star only because pretty much no effort has gone into restoring the picture. It is somewhat fuzzy, very grainy from dirt, and has a good bit of damage. The soundtrack is somewhat distorted and strident at times.

As a second note, I found this at the WB web site at a significant discount, and with free shipping.

As for the show itself, this is an almost forgotten gem. Jimmy Stewart plays Hawkins, a former assistant DA turned criminal defense attorney, who is rumored to have never lost a case, though he will not admit to that. He spun the role out of equal parts Elwood P Dowd (Harvey), Paul Biegler (Anatomy of a Murder), and Ransom Stoddard (The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance). The resulting character is a brilliant and delightful mixture of home-spun charm, empathetic friend, savvy tactician, and firebrand defender. His investigative style will remind you of Jessica Fletcher, a role created several years later.

Hawkins, always...

Move over Perry Mason
The cast is pretty amazing like they say. James won the Golden Globe that year. Imagine a big actor like him on television. Somebody copping out to him in the courtroom is always fun. I'm pretty sure it's mod, which is unpopular. I take them as I can get them. Like we have a choice. The picture quality is about what you would expect from some old retro show. I got it when they had a deal.

Excellent, underrated, almost forgotten series
James Stewart stars as Billy Jim Hawkins, a West Virginia, high-powered lawyer, in this 1973 series which had exactly nine episodes, coming in at 1 hour 15 minutes each. Stewart, in his second TV series, works hard at being a character, and he is well-aided by a supporting cast (Mayf Nutter, James Hampton, Strother Martin) and a bomber cast of 1960's and 1970's actors - William Windom, Tyne Daly, Paul Burke, Sheree North, Cameron Mitchell, Bonnie Bedelia, Kenneth Mars (pre-Inspector Kemp on Young Frankenstein), Julie Harris, Sam Elliott, Jeannette Nolan, among others. It naturally will remind some of Matlock, the Andy Griffith attorney series of the 1980s and 1990s and producer David Karp said in an interview that Griffith was once approached, but the deal somehow fell through.
I personally love the gripping, action-packed theme song by Jerry Goldsmith, but, somehow, it doesn't quite fit the saga of a laid-back West Virginia lawyer. No matter, this is well worth the price (no...
